A process for permanently deforming keratinic fibers is provided to inhibit degradation of hair coloring, and deterioration of cosmetic properties including hair softness, gloss, touch feeling, smoothness or disentangling in permanent deformation of keratinic fibers. A process for permanently deforming keratinic fibers comprises the steps of: applying to the keratinic fibers a reduction composition comprising a reducing agent represented by the formula: H(X')q(R')r in which X' is P, S or SO2, q is 0 or 1, r is 1 or 2, and R' is (C1-C20) hydrocarbon radical, linear or cyclic, saturated or unsaturated, optionally interfered by a heteroatom, and optionally comprising a substituent selected from hydroxyl, halogen group, amine group or carboxy group, ((C1-C30)alkyl) amino carbonyl group and ((C1-C30)alkyl) amino group mono or dialkylamino group; applying to the keratinic fibers an intermediate rinsing composition containing a monovalent metallic cation or an ammonium salt and an organic acid; and applying an oxidation composition to the keratinic fibers.
