The method involves controlling the ignition in a spark ignition engine with the deterioration of efficiency of the advancement to the ignition lower than 0.2 during a transient acceleration phase. The ignition is controlled with the deterioration of efficiency of the advancement to the maximum ignition higher than 0.4 during a final part of an idle phase. The ignition is controlled with the deterioration of efficiency of the advancement to the intermediate ignition values ranging from 0.2 to 0.4 and between the transient acceleration phase and the final part of the idle phase. |
