An automatic transmission for a vehicle is provided to supply a lubricating fluid of a frictional member to an input shaft without using an additional oil path. A plurality of clutch plates(8) are installed in an inner concavo-convex part(6) of a clutch retainer(4). A clutch disk(16) is arranged between the clutch plates in an outer concavo-convex part of a clutch hub(12). A piston assembly(18) is arranged in the inside of the clutch retainer in order to move the clutch plate to an axial direction. A multi-plate clutch is used as a frictional member. The remaining amount of fluid is supplied as a lubricating fluid of the frictional member in order to offset centrifugal force of a piston operation fluid.
