A method for manufacturing a composite dip cord for a tire cap ply is provided to enhance the adhesive force between the tire cap ply and rubber and improve the structural stability and the durability of the tire cap ply, by twisting a poly(ethyleneterephthalate) filament and a nylon 66 filament to form the composite dip cord. A first down twist yarn is prepared by applying twist of 250-310 T/M to a poly(ethyleneterephthalate) filament. A second down twist yarn is prepared by applying twist of 250-310 T/M to a nylon 66 filament. A composite cord is prepared by combining two or three down twist yarns while applying up-twist of 270-330 T/M. The composite cord is firstly dipped in a first dipping liquid containing para-chlorophenol. The firstly dipped composite cord is dried at a temperature of 130-160°C for 30 seconds to 2 minutes, and then cured at a temperature of 200-240°C for 1-2 minutes. The resultant composite cord is secondarily dipped in a second dipping liquid. The secondarily dipped composite cord is dried at a temperature of 130-160°C for 30 seconds to 2 minutes, and then cured at a temperature of 200-240°C for 1-2 minutes. Further, the poly(ethyleneterephthalate) filament has 900 to 1100 denier and the nylon 66 filament has 800 to 850 denier.
