<p>A gear (2) production plant (1) has, along a gear (2) production path, a station (6) for preparing a number of blanks (5); a cutting station (8), where respective teeth (9) are cut on the blanks to obtain a number of semifinished parts (10); a heat treating station (12), where the toothed semifinished parts are carburized or nitrided; and a finish station (13) for finish machining the heat treated semifinished parts; the plant (1) also having a check station (15)(25) located along the production path (3), downstream from the heat treating station (12) or the finish station (13), and which houses an optical measuring unit (16)(26) for non-destructively determining the effective carburized or nitrided case depth on the teeth (9).</p> |
