A contact arrangement for a gate or the like in an electric fence comprising a first component 1 adapted to be mounted on one of a gate and a gate post and a second component 3 adapted to be mounted on the other of the gate and the gate post. Each of the first and second components includes a contact member 11, 19 at least one of which is resilient, adapted to make contact with the contact member 19, 11 of the other component of the gate when the gate is closed and to break contact with the contact member of the other component when the gate is open. Each component may comprise an arm 7, one of which is preferably bent at 45 degrees. The contact members are attached to the arms and may be curved in a convex manner. A buckle for attaching the electric fence cable to the gate is also claimed (Figure 9). |
