摘要 An LCD device and a driving method thereof are provided to enable a control unit to calculate a compensated gradation voltage in consideration of a change of capacitance and control a data driving unit to apply the compensated gradation voltage to a pixel, thereby displaying correct gradation to improve image quality. An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) panel(300) includes a first substrate, a second substrate, and liquid crystal. A gate driving unit(400) applies a gate on voltage to a gate line(G1~Gn) successively repeatedly. A data driving unit(500) applies a gradation voltage to be applied to each pixel to a data line(D1~Dm). A memory unit(650) stores a change of capacitance according to gradation, a change of the gradation voltage, and the amount of electric charges. A control unit(600) reads the change of capacitance and the change of gradation voltage over from at least first gradation of a previous frame to second gradation of a current frame, and the amount of electric charges in the second gradation from the memory unit, calculates a compensated gradation voltage for supplying the amount of electric charges in the second gradation to a pixel(170) in the current frame, and controls the data driving unit to apply the compensated gradation voltage to the pixel.
