An air conditioner is provided to dispose a cyclone between filter cleaning kits and a kit suction force generating unit and connect the cyclone to a dust box detachably, thereby cleaning filters as the filters are mounted to a main body automatically and collecting impurities in the dust box to remove the same out of the main body easily. An air conditioner includes a main body, filters(203) disposed to air suction holes of the main body for purifying suction air, and a filter cleaning unit(700). The filter cleaning unit has movable filter cleaning kits(701) mounted on the filters, an impurity separating unit such as a cyclone(706) connected to the filter cleaning kits for separating impurities from the air passing through the filter cleaning kits, and a dust collecting element such as a dust box(708) connected to a separated space of the impurity separating unit and mounted in the main body detachably so as to be connected to or disconnected from the impurity separating unit.
