The dishwasher has a base compartment (1) with a ventilator (7) for discharge of cooling air along an external wall (3,4) of compartment for cooling of the external wall. A vapor outlet (16) is provided connected to an outlet (18) in a low pressure region (19) in the base compartment. Low pressure is generated opposite to the base compartment and the ventilator is in the low pressure region thus the air is removed by a ventilator from the base compartment.
