TAXI CALLING SYSTEM USING A CELLULAR PHONE

A system for calling a taxi by using a portable phone is provided to maximize stability, and to enhance convenience as compared to a conventional system in which a driver sends a call to a user for knowing the position of the user. A system for calling a taxi includes a portable phone(1), a communication service provider(3) and a navigation terminal(4). If a user of the portable phone tries to call the taxi and clicks on a taxi call button of the portable phone, the communication service provider receives the taxi call signal from the portable phone, transmits the taxi call signal to the navigation terminals located within a set distance from the position of the portable phone and transmits information on plural taxis, namely a distance to the user or an estimated arrival time to the place where the user is currently located, to the portable phone. In case that the user selects a wanted taxi, the communication service provider transmits the selection signal to the corresponding navigation terminal and guides the taxi to the user if the driver admits the selection signal.
