The present invention relates to a passive infra-red sensor 4 flood light 1 with a built in security camera 5. The flood light may consist of a visible light source 2 for use with a colour security camera, or an Infra-Red light source 2 for a black and white security camera. The camera 5 is placed inside the passive infra-red (PIR) sensor housing for the appearance of one body formation. In prior art systems the IR LED light source 2 and camera PCB have a shorter operating life due to the heat generated during long hours of operation. In the present invention, the visible/IR light source 2 is only operated on detection of a person by the PIR sensor and therefore the life span of the components is extended. |
