METHOD FOR HANDOVER IN A WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

A handover method in a wireless communication system is provided to determine a target base station after an MS recognizes whether to perform handover, and suggest detail operations of a base station by proposing a handover process for movement of the MS, thereby guaranteeing stable QoS(Quality of Service) of the MS. If a handover request message for informing handover performance is received from an MS(Mobile Station)(110), a handover notification message is transmitted to a target base station(120-1,120-2) included in the handover request message(403). The handover notification confirm message(405) is received from the target base station to confirm whether to accept handover of the MS. After generating a handover response message including information about the handover accept of the MS, the generated handover response message is transmitted to the MS. If a handover complete message is received from the target base station, communication with the MS is terminated.
