APPARATUS FOR AUTO DETECTION PANNEL DATA OF DISPLAY DEVICE AND METHOD THEREOF

An apparatus and a method for detecting a panel of an image device automatically are provided to manage the separated software and hardware by one, thereby performing the management of materials efficiently. A panel(200) is connected with a main board(100) and has information on each module. A memory(130) stores the corresponding software according to the module information of the panel. A microprocessor(140) performs the I^2C communication between the main board and the panel when turning on the power and reads the module information of the panel. The microprocessor also sets the previously stored software in the memory to the main board according to the module information of the panel. The module information includes the panel model name and the panel size information. The module information is the information of a PDP(Plasma Display Panel) so that the corresponding PDP software is set to the main board.
