A broadcasting program storing apparatus and a progress bar control method by using the same are provided to store the time information of the corresponding broadcasting when storing the broadcasting program. When a storing signal of the received broadcasting program is inputted, a broadcasting information detecting member detects the time information at the start point of the broadcasting program and the additional information included into the broadcasting program. A PVR(Personal Video Recorder) module member(125) stores the broadcasting program and the detected broadcasting information correspondingly. An OSD(On Screen Display) generating member(138) generates a progress bar for displaying the broadcasting programs stored until the present by a time shift function. A control member(102) displays the broadcasting program stored in the PVR module member on the progress bar and moves an indicator equipped to the progress bar to the start position of the broadcasting program according to the trick play function of the stored broadcasting program.
