An image processing apparatus, an image processing method, an electro-optical device, and an electronic device are provided to prevent the lowering of brightness in the entire image, and to inhibit the blurring of moving pictures without a complicate image process. The first frame image obtaining member(11) obtains plural first frame images for constructing the moving pictures. The second frame image insertion member(21) produces the second frame image including the white image and inserts the second frame image between the obtained first frame images. A frame image outputting member(31) outputs the plural first frame image with the inserted second frame images. The second frame image inserting member includes a double frame image producing member(22) for producing the double frame images continuously and sequentially from the first frame image. A white image pattern generating member(24) produces the white image pattern including the white image in order to change the double frame image into the second frame image. The second frame image conversion member(25) converts the double frame image into the second frame image on the basis of the white image pattern.
