<p>A purification function improved carrier is provided to improve the purification efficiency of exhaust gas by removing deposits accumulated on inner parts of cells of the carrier and increasing a contact area of the exhaust gas and the cells. In a carrier(11) which is formed by extrusion to purify exhaust gas generated from an engine when driving an automobile, and in which a plurality of cells(12) are formed, a purification function improved carrier is characterized in that metal needles(13) are formed in central parts of the cells and generate vortex in exhaust gas flowing through the cells during high speed traveling of the automobile to remove deposits adhered to inner walls of the cells. The metal needles are coated with ZSM-5(zeolite). The metal needles are formed on both faces of a support(14) having the same cross-sectional structure as the carrier such that the metal needles are projected to front and rear sides of the support. In the carrier(11) in which a first carrier(22) and a second carrier(23) are formed at front and rear sides and connected to each other, a purification function improved carrier is characterized in that a vortex generating unit(21) is installed between the first and second carriers to form vortex in exhaust gas passing through the carrier(11). Further, the vortex generating unit forms the metal needles inserted into the cells of the first and the second carriers.</p> |
