THE METHOD OF EXTRACTING WATER-SOLUBLE COMPONENT FROM SALVIA PLEBEIA, AND THE EXTRACT

A method for extracting water-soluble components of Salvia plebeian is provided to supply safe and useful water-soluble components of Salvia plebeian having anti-bacterial, anti-cancer, immune cell-activating and liver toxicity-alleviating effects. A method for extracting water-soluble components of Salvia plebeian comprises the steps of: adding distilled water into the dried leaf and stem of Salvia plebeian and boiling the mixture for 2-4 hours; filtering the boiled solution and collecting the supernatant; concentrating the supernatant under reduced pressure; regulating pH of the concentrate with acetic acid and NaOH to 4, storing the concentrate for 30 minutes or more, centrifuging the stored concentrate and recovering the precipitates; regulating pH of the supernatant to 5 and repeating the above steps to collect the precipitates; independently regulating pH of the supernatant to 6, 7 and 8, and repeating the above steps to collect the precipitates; and gathering precipitated collected in each step.
