A display device and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to form wiring, to which a common voltage is supplied, and a separate dummy pattern, of which a part is overlapped with the wiring, and make insulation breaking by static electricity generated easily in the overlapping area, thereby forming a separate pass through which the static electricity can go out to disperse the static electricity flowing through the wiring. A substrate is defined as a display area and a peripheral area. A common wiring portion(30) is installed in the peripheral area of the substrate and has common wiring(31) and a common wiring projected portion(32) which is extended with a wider width than that of the common wiring. A part of a dummy pattern portion(50) for electrostatic prevention is overlapped with a boundary area between the common wiring and the common wiring projected portion of the common wiring portion.
