The wrench has a reduction gearing including a gearing stage (15) positioned in a main tool housing (10). The gearing has another gearing stage (16) positioned in a separate gearing casing (17), and a torque sensing unit associated with the former stage and indicates a torque corresponding to the delivered torque via an output shaft (13). The gearing casing together with the latter stage forms a separate gearing unit which is detachably connected to the housing and is one of a number of interchangeable gearing units that are with different reduction ratios.
