A fire extinguishing composition is provided to maximize complete combustion, prevent an ozone layer from being destructed and show improved characteristics of use such as high mechanical strength and a wide range of temperature and humidity by making a constant qualitative equilibrium state of potassium hyperchlorate and potassium nitrate equilibrium. A fire extinguishing composition comprises: 50.0-80.0 wt.% of an antioxidizing agent which is in the form of potassium nitrate or potassium hyperchlorate; 10.0-30.0 wt.% of an oxygen containing compound which is epoxide, an unsaturated polyester resin, rubber or a mixture form thereof; 2.0-8.0 wt.% of a combustion modifier such as manganese dioxide, nickel oxide, iron oxide, and a mixture thereof; plasticizer; and the remaining amount of other additives, wherein the ratio of the potassium hyperchlorate and the potassium nitrate is 1:1-1:5.
