A multistage press type casting and forging mold unit and a multistage press type casting and forging method using press equipment are provided to completely remove casting defects such as contraction holes and bubble holes in a molded article and produce an article with compact structure and excellent mechanical properties by continuously pressurizing the material even after charging a material into cavities while controlling molding rate, molding pressure and molding time. In press equipment comprising a mold operating part, an upper platen, and a lower platen, a multistage press type casting and forging mold unit using the press equipment is characterized in that: upper and lower mold units(2,3) are mounted on the upper and lower platens respectively to replace the upper and lower molds according to an article to be molded; the upper mold unit includes an upper supporting plate(21) removably mounted on a bottom part of the upper platen, upper supporting blocks(22) fixed to both sides of a bottom part of the upper supporting plate, an upper mold supporting plate(23) fixed to lower ends of the upper supporting blocks, an upper mold(25) formed on a bottom part of the upper mold supporting plate, and an upper plunger(27) installed to perform a straight motion vertically in a way that the upper plunger can advance from a through hole formed in the center of the upper platen into the upper mold; and the lower mold unit includes a lower supporting plate(31) removably installed on a top part of the lower platen, lower supporting blocks(32) fixed to both sides of a top part of the lower supporting plate, a lower mold supporting plate(33) fixed to upper ends of the lower supporting blocks, a lower mold(35) formed on a top part of the lower mold supporting plate, and a lower plunger(37) installed to perform a straight motion vertically in a way that the lower plunger can advance from a through hole formed in the center of the lower platen into the lower mold.
