<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a decrease in bonding strength by a diffusion bonding, even in a metal carrier having such a large outside-diameter size as not to secure a contact pressure between a flat plate and a corrugated plate at an intermediate position between the center part and the periphery part, when the flat plate with a back tension applied is spirally wound together with the corrugated plate, thereafter is subjected to a diameter constriction process. <P>SOLUTION: The metal carrier includes: an inner honeycomb body 3 which is prepared by spirally winding the flat plate 7 with a tension applied together with the corrugated plate 9, diffusion bonding the flat plate 7 and the corrugated plate 9, and applying pressure from the inner cylinder 13 on the peripheral side after winding to be subjected to the diameter constriction process; and an outer honeycomb body 5 which is prepared by integrally providing on the outer periphery of the inner honeycomb body 3, spirally winding the flat plate 17 with a tension applied together with the corrugated plate 19 on a hollow winding core 15, diffusion bonding the flat plate 17 and the corrugated plate 19, and applying pressure from the outer cylinder 23 on the peripheral side after winding to be subjected to the diameter constriction process. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
