TOXIC SUBSTANCE COLLECTING MATERIAL, METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME AND METHOD FOR TREATING TOXIC SUBSTANCE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toxic substance collecting material by which a toxic substance can be collected satisfactorily and which hardly imposes a load on the environment and to provide a method for producing the toxic substance collecting material and a method for treating the toxic substance by using the toxic substance collecting material. SOLUTION: The toxic substance collecting material is provided with: a base material; a grafted chain bonded to the base material; and a functional group which is bonded to the grafted chain and has the capacity for collecting the toxic substance. The base material to be used is a biodegradable and water-soluble base material such as methylcellulose. The method for producing the toxic substance collecting material comprises the steps of: bonding the grafted chain having a reactive functional group to the biodegradable and water-soluble base material by a graft polymerization method; and bonding the functional group having the capacity for collecting the toxic substance to the grafted chain.
