The method involves partially replacing a refrigerant provided in a cooling circuit of an air conditioning system by an exchange-refrigerant provided in a pressure tank. Liquid exchange refrigerant from the pressure tank is filled in the cooling circuit, and gaseous refrigerant is removed from the cooling circuit, compressed and forced into the pressure tank. The exchange-refrigerant is stored in the pressure tank at a pressure, which is higher than the pressure of the refrigerant in the cooling circuit of the air conditioning system.
