The electric heater (10) has an electrically heatable heating plate (14) with a retaining device, and brackets (84, 94) comprising a fixing region and a holding region, where the ridges are fixed to the retaining device by the fixing region. The holding regions and lamellas (60) have immersing regions and retaining recesses adapted at one of the immersing regions. The lamellas are inserted into the recesses using plug connectors, fixed to the brackets and are held at the retaining device. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing an electric heater.
