PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic radial tire suppressing deterioration of riding comfort and uneven abrasiveness while securing a large residue cornering force to improve straight line stability of a vehicle. SOLUTION: In the pneumatic radial tire 10, in the radial outer side of a carcass 12 toroidally extending across between bead cores 16, an outer side belt layer 20 in which first cords 22 extending in a direction inclined with respect to a tire equatorial face CL are buried in covering rubber is provided. Between the carcass 12 and the outer side belt layer 20, an inner side belt layer 30 in which second cords 32 extending in a direction crossing the first cords 31 are buried in covering rubber is provided. In the radial direction outer side, a tread 40 is provided. The total strength GF20 of the outer side belt layer 20 is set larger than the total strength GF30 of the inner side belt layer 30. Thus, this structure secures a large residue cornering force, improves straight line stability of the vehicle and suppresses deterioration of ride comfort and uneven abrasiveness.
