<p>Apparatus (1000) for management of medical images and for preparing and circulating reports on analysis of those images has a medical reporting client (8), a central server system (9), a download client (12), and a web application (14). The apparatus (1000) is interfaced with imaging apparatus (1) and may be interfaced with PACS/IS system (2) or a RIS/LIS/CIS/HIS system (3). The medical reporting client (8) is the application that is used to create, aggregate, generate, and combine, medical reports with their associated images or media. The central server module (9) is used to map formats of medical reports and images, manage medical reports and images centrally for distribution to referring health providers, manage profiles and facilities centrally, manage various users' profiles of doctors, operators, and patients. The download client (12) is used to integrate medical report data into healthcare practitioners in-house systems. The web application (14) handles secure communications with healthcare practitioners, logins, accessing of images, image manipulation and forwarding messages to practitioners. Healthcare practitioners are notified by SMS (18) or by email (13) that reports with images (8f) are available for viewing. The healthcare practitioner may then view the reports with images (8f) using a web browser (15) over a secure connection.</p> |
