<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell system capable of immediately supplying electric power for effectively serving as a backup power source for a system power source even when power supply from the system power source is stopped. <P>SOLUTION: In this fuel cell system, direct current outputted from a solid electrolyte fuel cell 1 generating power by supply of fuel gas and oxygen-containing gas is converted into alternating current power by a power conversion system 2, and the converted alternating current power is regulated according to alternating current power fed from the system power source. The power fed from the fuel cell 1 and the power fed from the system power source 6 are combined together to be fed to a load 5, and if power supply from the system power source 6 is stopped, the system power source 6 and the fuel cell 1 are separated from each other and only the power fed from the fuel cell 1 is fed to the load 5. In the period from stop of power supply from the system power source 6 to its restoration, sufficient power can be stably supplied to the fuel cell 1 by continuously supplying fuel gas equivalent to a maximum available power quantity to the load. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
