<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery excellent in cycle characteristics and charge-discharge characteristics, in which a potential of a cathode active material in a fully charged condition is 4.4 to 4.6 V on the basis of metallic lithium and an Li content of the cathode active material at that potential does not exceed 40% of the initial Li content. <P>SOLUTION: The nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery includes a cathode containing a cathode active material, an anode containing an anode active material, and nonaqueous electrolyte, wherein a potential of the cathoode active material in a fully charged condition is 4.4 to 4.6 V on the basis of metallic lithium, an Li content of the cathode active material at that potential does not exceed 40% of the initial Li content, and the nonaqueous electrolyte contains a specific ethylene carbonate derivative having halogen. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
