PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording device capable of easily managing video recording data scheduled to be deleted and securely informing a user of video recording data to be deleted in near future. SOLUTION: When a program distributed by television broadcasting etc., is video-recorded on a recording medium such as a hard disk, a point of time which is a predetermined time after the time when the video recording is completed is calculated and the calculated time is determined as deletion time of the video-recording data. The determined time is registered in a deletion time list recorded on the hard disk. When a recording device is powered on, the deletion time list recorded on the hard disk is output as an image signal to an external device. Consequently, each time the recording device is powered on, the deletion time list is displayed on a display device such as a monitor.
