<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wire mesh filter by which first, dimensional accuracy is improved, second, density is uniformized, third, collection efficiency is improved, and fourth, extension accident to the outside can be prevented, and to provide its manufacturing method. <P>SOLUTION: This wire mesh filter 13 is formed by winding in a roll the strip-like stockinet-stitch wire mesh 15. The wire mesh 15 is folded into two layers at a folding line 17 along a long side 16 and lengths of folded two short sides 18, 19 are made different, long and short, to be folded and demarcated into a wide part strip 20 and a narrow part strip 21. The wire mesh 15 is used in a single sheet or in a set of two sheets, manufactured through a folding process, a rolling process, and winding process, and in many cases, a press process is performed as a final process.
