DEVICE FOR SHUTTING OFF FLOW PASSAGE IN PIPE AND METHOD FOR SHUTTING OFF FLOW PASSAGE OF FLUID PIPING SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently, reliably and easily perform the operation of shutting off a flow passage between the mating surfaces of both connection flange portions with little effort while avoiding the leakage of fluid in a pipe and to simplify and miniaturize a leakage structure by rationally devising the width of a partition plate valve.

SOLUTION: A shut-off operation cover B that is mountable to both pipe portions while sealing the outer peripheries of the connecting flange portions thereof is provided with both a partition plate valve 8 having a sheet-shaped valve plate 8A that can be inserted through a gap created between the connecting flange portions by the operation of loosening a fastener 5 and be moved up to a position for shutting off the flow passage in the pipe, and a sliding guide means C for sliding and guiding the valve plate 8A of the partition plate valve 8 to a flow passage shutting position and a flow passage opening position while holding the valve plate sealed. The width of the valve plate 8A of the partition plate valve 8 is greater than the inside diameter of each pipe portion and smaller than the spacing between the bolts 5A of the fastener 5 that are opposite to each other across the pipe axis of each pipe portion.
