PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control distinctive smell of natural fibers in a wet paper-making method for producing a natural fiber mat. SOLUTION: An apparatus for producing the natural fiber mat includes a natural fiber-washing tank 40, a fiber-dispersing tank for dispersing the washed wet natural fibers in a solution, a binder-dispersing tank for dispersing a binder in a solution, a mixing tank for mixing the fiber dispersion liquid with the binder dispersion liquid, a paper-making machine for continuously making a mat from a mixed dispersion prepared by dispersing the fibers and the binder, and a drier for evaporating water from the mat. The washing tank 40 has a pH monitor 46 for detecting the pH of a washing liquid, a neutralizing agent-adding portion 48 for adding an alkali-neutralizing agent for neutralizing the washing solution, and a circulation path 44 for circulating the washing liquid.
