A device and a method for displaying an AD(ADvertisement) image using a navigation system are provided to display the desired 2D(Dimensional) or 3D AD image of an advertiser actively on a digital map of the navigation system according to a condition set by the advertiser. A GPS(Global Positioning System) receiver(230) transfers a current location received from a GPS satellite to a controller(200). The controller performs navigation and determines whether the current location or time satisfies an AD time condition by using the received current location. The controller matches an AD image with a digital map, and outputs the AD image and the digital map to an output part(250) by determining a predetermined display condition. The controller includes a condition determining(210) comprising an AD time condition determiner(211) and a display condition determiner, and a matcher(220). A memory(240) stores AD images(242) of a plurality of advertisers and display mode information(241).
