<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a user to watch television with a video receiver on the side to be authorized even if a power supply of a video receiver on the authorizing side is turned off. <P>SOLUTION: A video data receiving system is composed so that video receivers 11-13 respectively have an authentication unit 22, which has an authentication function, and an authentication-authority management unit, which manages authentication authority that makes the authentication function effective, and the video receivers are connected with each other by a network 16 for authentication. The authentication unit 22 of the video receiver 11 having authentication authority permits the other video receivers 12, 13 to receive video data sent from the outside 14. When a power supply of the video receiver 11 having authentication authority is turned off, the power supply is turned off after the authentication-authority management unit of the video receiver 11 transfers the authentication authority to either of the other video receivers 12, 13 connected to the network 16 so as to establish a link with the network. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
