<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photocatalytic material which can carry a high amount of fullerene or a fullerene derivative exhibiting catalytic efficiency when excited by light, can effectively increasing an irradiation efficiency of light, and has high catalytic efficiency, a low-cost, simplified manufacturing method therefor, and a chemical substance decomposition method using the photocatalytic material. <P>SOLUTION: The photocatalytic material is composed of a substrate made of a light transmitting material, and fullerene or a fullerene derivative carried by the light transmitting material through a specific crosslinking agent, and excited by light of a wavelength region of 200-850 nm. The chemical substance decomposition method comprises a pretreatment process for immersing the substrate made of the light transmitting material in a first solvent containing the crosslinking agent, and a post-treatment process for immersing the substrate in a second solvent containing fullerene or the fullerene derivative. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
