<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical film suitable for a polarizer protection film and its manufacturing method, and to provide the polarizer protective film having superior productivity and durability, a polarizer using the polarizer protection film, and to provide a liquid crystal display that uses the polarizer, wherein the optical characteristics of the display, luminance, in particular, are improved by the polarizer protective film itself, having polarized light scattering anisotropy. <P>SOLUTION: In the method of manufacturing the optical film by a solution flow casting film forming method, within 0.2 seconds or longer and 30 seconds or shorter after a dope is cast on a support, a web 10 on the support 11 is dried in a condition of satisfying the expression 30≤Z≤-5.40T+420, where Z is the amount of web residual solvent (wt.%), Z=ä(M-N)/N}×100, M is the weight of the web, N is the weight of the dried web with the weight M, and T represents film average temperature (°C). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
