<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that when an MPEG system moving image encoded signal is decoded and re-encoded by a DV system, picture type information in the MPEG system moving image encoded signal is lost, and when the DV system encoded image signal is re-encoded into MPEG system again, the signal is occasionally re-encoded in a picture type different from the original MPEG system moving image signal, and image quality is deteriorated considerably in such a case. <P>SOLUTION: A DV encoding unit 13 generates DV data resulting from setting pack information generated by a pack information generating unit 12 to image data obtained by compression-encoding decoded image data supplied from an MPEG decoding unit 11, in the unit of a frame, by the DV system being used for a digital video camera. For each frame of the decoded image data, the pack information generating unit 12 generates picture type information indicating which picture type the frame or a field is when it is encoded by MPEG, as pack information that is auxiliary information associated with the frame. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
