PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for simultaneously satisfying both the surface smoothness and the end-face coatability of a cationic electrodeposition coating material. SOLUTION: The cationic electrodeposition coating composition having excellent smoothness and end-face coatability gives an uncured deposition coating film formed by the electrodeposition coating of the cationic electrodeposition coating composition and having a storage elastic modulus (G') of 80-500 dyn/cm<SP>2</SP>at 140°C and a loss elastic modulus (G") of 10-150 dyn/cm<SP>2</SP>at 80°C.
