PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out with an efficient and simple constitution a membrane leak detection of a hollow fiber membrane, a discrimination of whether the membrane is reworkable or scrapped after the membrane leak confirmation, and an appropriatizing of operation conditions by a leak position estimation. SOLUTION: The constitution comprises a straight run of pipe and a tapered part, which are connected by a visible cap constituted by a transparent material and has a filtration membrane module which separates a supply liquid supplied by a plurality of hollow fiber membranes into a filtrate and a concentrated liquid, and a filtrate pipe which is a pipe arrangement distributing the filtrate from the filtration membrane module are provided. Air is supplied to the filtration membrane module, and a view of bubbles in the filtrate generated from the hollow fiber membrane specifies the leaked membranes and the number, and specifies the leak positions from the relation of a gas supply time and a leak confirming time.
