PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radiation therapy apparatus that facilitates dose distribution measuring and that, during such measuring, has no possibility of causing distortion in the mounting accuracy of an irradiation field forming device. SOLUTION: The radiation therapy apparatus includes a therapy room 71 for performing radiation therapy and an irradiation field forming device 13 that is fixed on the wall or ceiling of the therapy room 71 to emit radiation. The radiation therapy apparatus is further equipped with a dose distribution measuring device 21 that measures a radiation dose emitted from the irradiation field forming device 13, and with a transfer mechanism 22 that movably guides this measuring device 21 so as to freely appear/disappear in a position opposing the irradiation field forming device 13 in the therapy room 71.
