The method involves storing an identifier (K4) of a software application (4) in a data source (1), generating a random number (Z1) by the data source in a regular time interval, where the application associates the random number with the identifier to a control number. Another random number (Z1') is reconstructed from the control number, and is compared with the generated random number (Z1) based on the identifier.
