<p>A method of cooling a hot-rolled steel strip which can be implemented at reduced equipment/processing costs, provides little variations in temperatur e of a steel strip after cooling, and can control with high accuracy a cooli ng terminating temperature especially in a temperature zone of up to 500°C. A method of cooling a hot-rolled steel strip subjected to hot rolling by bri nging it into contact with cooing water, comprising a first cooling step and a second cooling step subsequent to it, wherein the first cooling step stop s cooling at a steel strip temperature higher than a transition boiling star t temperature, and the subsequent second cooling step cools it with cooling water at a water amount density delivering nuclear boiling. Since passing th rough a transition boiling temperature zone can be avoided, cooling instabil ity due to transition boiling can be positively avoided, variations in tempe rature of a steel strip after cooling are small, and a cooling terminating t emperature can be controlled with high accuracy.</p> |
