<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bearing device capable of surely detecting and storing operational information over a long period of time. <P>SOLUTION: A sensor chip 1 is positioned on the outer ring of a ball bearing. The sensor chip 1 has on a single semiconductor substrate 11 a generating element 12 for generating electric power in response to vibration, a sensor part 13 formed of an AE sensor for detecting elastic waves, a storage part 14 formed of a nonvolatile RAM, a sending/receiving part 15 formed of an RF antenna, a sending circuit and a receiving circuit for communicating with an external device, and a control part 16 formed of a CPU. When the ball bearing rotates, the outer ring vibrates and this vibration causes the generating element 12 of the sensor chip to generate electric power, which is in turn supplied to the sensor part 13 and the control part 16. The sensor chip can be driven over the long operating period of the ball bearing to enable detection of elastic waves and storage of detected information. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
