<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutting edge exchangeable cutting tip which is reduced in breakage risk of the tip when mounted on a cutting tool, and also exerts sufficient visibility in the cutting field or the like where the intensity of illumination is insufficient. <P>SOLUTION: The cutting edge exchangeable cutting tip has a base material and a cover layer formed on the base material. The base material has a through hole penetrating from an upper surface to a lower surface. The cover layer is formed of a plurality of layers, and an outermost layer in a hole peripheral region on the upper surface or the lower surface, enclosing the periphery of the through hole with a width of 4 mm or less, is different in composition from the outermost layer in an external peripheral region other than the hole peripheral region. Specifically, the outermost layer in the hole peripheral region has a tensile residual stress, while the outermost layer in the external peripheral region does not have a residual stress or has a compressive residual stress. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
