PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an elevator confinement detection device capable of detecting confinement during stop of an elevator by detecting abnormal temperature rise inside a car and abnormal decline in an oxygen concentration when the temperature is high or when a large number of passengers are confined inside the car. SOLUTION: The elevator confinement detection device is provided with an elevator control device 4 and a thermometer and oximeter 3 installed inside the car 1 and detecting abnormal temperature rise and abnormal decline in the oxygen concentration inside the car 1. At the time of abnormal stop of the elevator, when the thermometer and oximeter 3 detect abnormal temperature rise and abnormal decline in the oxygen concentration inside the car 1, the detection information is transmitted to the elevator control device 4 and the elevator control device 4 determines that confinement occurs.
