A rotation detector capable of outputting absolute angle information by using an ABZ phase signal without the need for redundant operation or a procedure and a rotation detector-equipped bearing incorporating the rotation detector. The rotation detector comprises an absolute angle detecting sensor (3) for detecting the rotation angle of a rotating member at an absolute angle and a rotation pulse signal generating means (7) for generating an index signal which is the zero phase of the absolute angle detecting sensor (3) and a rotation pulse signal including a pulse signal at regular intervals on the basis of the absolute angle detected by the absolute angle detecting sensor (3). The rotation pulse signal is outputted by an absolute angle output mode executing means (8) in an absolute angle output mode which is a mode of performing the output after the output of the index signal up to the current absolute angle.
