The egg box has a lower part (1) of a fibrous material and a trough (3) for receiving an egg (4). The lower part is hinged with an articulated closing cap (2), which is partly transparent and consists of the fibrous material. The closing cap has one or multiple openings (6), extending into an area of the troughs at the topside in the center. The openings are closed by a foil (7), affixed on the fibrous material. The opening is designed in a rectangular shape, which is stretched through the trough center. An independent claim is also included for a device for gluing a foil on an opening, provided in an egg box.
