An electronic apparatus and a method for controlling the electronic apparatus are provided for enhancing security by ciphering not only the content of operation but also the number of combinations of operation for a third party. A control section (15) judges whether the operation performed at an operating section (12) coincides with a predetermined content of operation stored in a storage section (14), permits a predetermined operation if they coincide with each other otherwise judges whether the number of operations performed at the operating section (12) coincides with an arbitrary numerical value acquired and issues a warning if they coincide with each other.
