摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To record with optimum recording power when already recorded places and not yet recorded places are forecasted to cause randomly in an upper layer, in randomly accessible multi-layer optical disk and recording method.

SOLUTION: The disk has a data recording layer and a test writing region divided into a plurality of small regions in respective layers, in the small region of the test writing region, recording is performed so that combination of a previously recorded place and a not yet recorded place can be performed in the other layers for the small region in which OPC is performed of a layer in which OPC is performed. Also OPC is performed for respective small regions in which combination of recorded and unrecorded places of the other respective layers are different, and an average value of respective results of OPC or a center value of variation is obtained as optimum power.
